The NASSCOM Centre of Excellence for Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a pioneering initiative by the Government of India, launched in collaboration with the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM). It aims to establish India as a global leader in the emerging technologies of IoT and AI by creating an ecosystem that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development in these domains. Launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 1st July 2015 as part of the Digital India initiative, the Centre of Excellence (CoE) is strategically located in Bengaluru, one of the country’s foremost technology hubs. This initiative was approved in June 2015 with an outlay of ₹2195.22 lakh and is executed in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode by ERNET India and NASSCOM. The CoE is designed to support India’s growing IoT and AI sectors by providing a platform for innovation, product development, standardization, and commercialization. It caters to the specific needs of the Indian market in areas such as smart cities, health, agriculture, energy, and more while also contributing to global technology standards and solutions.
