India's National Politics & Election

India, the world’s largest democracy, has a vibrant and diverse national political landscape. Its political system is parliamentary in nature, with power divided among the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary. The Lok Sabha (House of the People) and the Rajya Sabha (Council of States) form the bicameral Parliament.

Elections in India are conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI), an autonomous body that ensures free and fair elections. General elections are held every five years to elect Members of Parliament (MPs) to the Lok Sabha. Political parties play a key role, with national parties like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC) dominating the landscape.

India’s elections reflect its diversity, with active participation from various regions, castes, religions, and linguistic groups. National politics continues to evolve with growing youth involvement, digital campaigning, and policy debates shaping the democratic process.
